Dean Lenz

Principal Solicitor · Accredited Criminal Law Specialist

Dean Lenz is an Accredited Criminal Law Specialist, recognised by the Law Society of New South Wales — a distinction held by only a small number of solicitors in the state.

He has practised criminal law for more than twenty years. He began at Murphy's Lawyers, working directly with Chris Murphy on high-profile matters — learning the work where the stakes were highest — before founding Lenz Legal in 2010. In that time his work has spanned the full breadth of the criminal list: from murder and serious violence through to coercive control, drug and traffic matters.

Many matters Dean conducts and argues himself. Others call for a barrister — and over the years he has built lasting relationships with many of the state’s leading silks, the senior counsel engaged in its most serious and complex cases. He has instructed them in significant matters under Lenz Legal, and he knows who to brief, and when. He understands how each court runs, and what it expects. The result is representation matched to the matter: Dean’s own hand on every case, and the right advocate brought in when it calls for one.

He acts only for the accused, and appears in every court in New South Wales.
